BIG POOLS, FANCY CARS
jUST got back from Cali and i miss it already! i could have seriously stayed another month. On thursday afternoon i went to the airport, i was very surprised to see my pal Mario there! It was the weirdest thing because we were both missing coach cliff's class at the same time. So after my flight landed in Dallas, Mario and his dad and I walked to our connecting flight together. I was just happy to be alive after riding those dinky planes that feel like theyre about to fall apart. So after Mario and his dad left, i met up with my mom :) I havent seen her in like a month so i was really happy! On the way there we watched Shrek 2, which was hillarious. When we arrived @ Orange County/John Wayne airport (whatever they call it) my sister and my dad was waiting there. We were like ONE big happy family again! lol. Since my mom had a conference, the people paid for her hotel in Disneyland and we got to go to Disney's house of blues. So that night we went to Rainforest Cafe for dinner. After we dropped my parents off at the hotel, my sister and i drove to Malibu, where her dorm is.
We got to pepperdine at like 11, so to me it was really like 2 am. I was drifting off pretty much the whole way there, and my sister would wake me up for the 'important' stuff like seeing the LA strip and when she saw deer on the side of the road. We finally got there and i ended up having to sleep in my sister's twin bed with her because this girl was studying in the common room with the couch. So i woke up the next day with the biggest crick in my neck. I had to wake up kinda early for this tour of pepperdine. So i didnt really get to put on much make up or do my hair. After the tour, i came back to put on make up because i figured if i saw a celeb i had to look my best, haha. ANyways, that day went on, we went shopping on Rodeo Dr. which was fun yet really ANNOYING. Dont even try to go into Versace unless you have a louis vuitton purse, a bently, or a reaaaally rich family member because they will just glare at you. I felt like Pretty Woman. I really dont understand how there are so many rich people in LA and all of them wear designer clothes and all of them drive a mercedes.
So anyway, the day went on and still NO FAMOUS PEOPLE. I was begining to just give up. We spent pretty much the whole day driving around seeing stuff like beverly hills and ucla. We even went to Ralph's, a grocery store where Ozzy O has been seen there buying fire wood. But still, no luck. That night we went to Taverna Tony's which is notorious for having celebs at least every day. It's a good place to go because not many people know about it. They have this amazing caviare(sp?) dip- we didnt exactly know it was that till after, but it was still really good. So, we are sitting there waiting for our food. And in walks Gary Shandlin (hosted the Emmy's, you would know him if you saw him). I was just excited to see a B list star. He must have known the manager because they talked in the front for like 20 minutes. Later, in walks the BARBRA herself, Barbra Streisand that is (and her husband). I couldnt believe and A list star was like 3 yards away from me. I had my camera right there. I always said if i saw a celeb while i was there, i had to take a picture. SOmething made me not take it though. I think if i was on the street i would. But i couldnt because Malibu is her home and she just came to eat dinner. I could have gone home then, that just made my night!
The next day we went shopping in an actual mall. This mall was a little different though because instead of stores like Dillards and buckle it had Tiffanys, Chanell, Dolce and Gabana and Versace. However, we did find some "normal people" stores. This one store Zara, had the best pants EVER! Theyre actually long enough, like 40 inches. I also found my DREAM shoes in Macy's. Only they were kinda expensive so i didnt get them. I did take a picture of them though :) I had to jet out of the store though cause the salesperson was about to come after me.
The next day, I left :( I was so sad. It went by so fast, but I already have a trip planned for this next summer so let me know if you wanna come with me.
All in all it was a really fun trip and im so happy i went. Now i can finally say i met a famous person besides Aladin:).
