LONGEST delay ever to L-TOWN
Because of such HIGH demand, i decided to make another bloggy...it seems like people were just DYING to hear more about my life. So i will fill everyone back in on the high lights. A lot has happened since i wrote last but all these stories seem like they are soo much more fun the day they happened. Let's see......
I went to Lubbock for thanksgiving, you only go there if you have to travel for business or you have relatives there. In my case it was the family thing. I arrived at the Easterwood airport around 545pm (for my 630 flight). This is probably the ONE time in my life i have ever been early for (ok im not that bad, but i have been known to be late for things), so the whole being early thing for an flight that takes litterally 2 seconds to walk thru security really bites as you will see later. So i check in and they inform me that my flight has been delayed till 715. I expected it from the weather reports, so i wasnt too stressed about it. Kaylies mom and I sat down and looked at magazines until it was time to line up for security. It appeared as if i was about to board my flight around 710, so Mrs. H left. We sat down in that waiting room, and waited, and waited some more. And it was like 8 or so before they let us know that our flight has been delayed once again. We waited soo long that I would have been bored out of my mind because all i brought was homework, but fortunately our flight had a lot of funny college students, so i was entertained. A lot people began going up to the front and asking the flight clerks a bunch of questions so i figured i better pester them too. They said that if we left in the next 15 minutes, i could make my connecting flight in Dallas.. if i sprinted. I couldnt fly out the next day because they were completely booked up from thanksgiving.
So my only choice was to fly to Dallas. If i made my connecting flight, thank God. And if not, I would have to spend the night in the Big D. i was not too excited about this idea because i am a 17 year old white girl...the most common victim of rape. They dont call Dallas the Big D for nothing and im sure there are molesters and rapists on every corner. I called my parents and let them know the scoop. My mom let me know that my cousin Jay lives 20 minutes away from the airport, and that if i needed him he could come pick me up. That was a relief, but i just wanted to get to Lubbock at this point. So we FINALLY leave college station at 9:15. My flight for Lubbock was at 8:58. It seems impossible to make, but not for me! I ran my marathon through the shuttle buses and ariport trains and I got to the gate in the nick of time, everyone was lined up. Thank Jesus that that flight was delayed too. So anyway, i got to Lubbock at 2:30 am.
what a trip. I was excited to be "home", but i found out that i had a 10 am doctors appt.So i went straight to bed. I got up the next day, went to the doctor, got my hair cut [and bangs :)] Then we went to some car dealerships for the rest of the day. I test drove a Hyundai Santa Fe, i really liked it. Most importantly my parents liked it too and thats good because they have the doe!. By the time we did that, it was like 7 and we went home and had dinner. The next day we went to my Grandmas for T-day. It was good to see all the old relatives, and i even met some i didnt know about!
We spent the night there and let me tell ya, what an adveturous night it was! I was not a witness of this story, but it is so completely hysterical that I have to pass it on. All the adults had the beds (my parents, aunt and uncle, and granny and gdad) Thats just how it works in our family, and the cousins sleep on the couches or whatever. So i was in the grand kid's room on the really uncomfortable pull out bed. Sterling was in the living room on the couch. My Grandma said that when she gets up in the morning she would wake him up so that he could go sleep in a more comfortable bed. So that morning 6'2'' Ster got up, and got in bed with Grandad. Gdad was awake at this point, and they began talking about somethings in bed. About 10 minutes later, my Grandad gets up completely NUDE! My cousin shocked says, "grandad, youre naked!" And he answers "well, we were born like this werent we." haha i couldnt believe my ears when i heard that. If youre completely grossed out by now, i know...just imagine your own grandpa naked..hahaha.
ANYWAY the next day went back to Lubbock (we got back around 6 in the evening, just in time to see the last 5 minutes of the A&M- TU game...:( ) And I left for the airport around 10 then next morning. It seems like it went by soo fast, but I will be back there in a few weeks. This blog is suuuuuperrrrrr long. anyway, till next time!!! much loove...:)
